The Core edition is perfect for secure, efficient, and headless operations on Azure, allowing you to focus on performance and security in cloud-native and hybrid environments. Core for Windows Server 2025 on Azure provides a reduced footprint, faster deployment times, and enhanced automation, making it ideal for optimized, resource-efficient cloud applications.
Cloud Infrastructure Services certified images are always up-to-date, secure, and built to work right out of the box.
Server Core installation eliminates any services and other features that are not essential for the support of certain commonly used server roles. For example, a Hyper-V server doesn't need a graphical user interface (GUI), because you can manage virtually all aspects of Hyper-V either from the command line using Windows PowerShell or remotely using the Hyper-V Manager.
