MIM Migration To Entra ID Assessment: 8-Wk Assessment

Targeted for organisations that are still using Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM) or Forefront Identity Manager (FIM) to manage their account lifecycles and access management. This assessment aims to provide an understanding of you current rules, policies and associated processes in your legacy MIM solution so that you can plan your incremental transition to native Microsoft Entra Id capabilities such as Identity Lifecycle Workflows and API Inbound Provisioning.

Assessment Schedule:

• Week 1 - 4: Discovery of current environment, desktop review of current process, workshops with key stakeholders, configuration and code review of current implementation.
• Week 5: Drafting of documentation
• Week 6: Review and Validation Workshop & revisions
• Week 7-8: Entra ID target state high level architecture and incremental implementation plan for Entra Native solutions

At the end of this assessment, you will have:

• A clear understanding of your current Identity Lifecycle rules
• A high level mapping of data flow from the Source of Authority to Accounts
• A high level architectural diagram of your MIM ecosystem (including dependencies)
• Roadmap to migrate account lifecycle management to Entra ID

Due to the nature of MIM this assessment is estimated based on a medium organisation with a heavy reliance on its capabilities including custom connectors. However, more complex installations, including those with custom PowerShell to orchestrate external services, may require long assessment to document and understand.
