This training will also get off to a good start on accessing data from various of sources, including prebuilt connectors for popular Azure services like Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Analysis Services, amongst others.
Day 2: Data Modeling and Relationships Introduction to Data Modeling: Understanding Tables, Relationships, and Keys; Creating Relationships Between Tables; Types of Relationships: One-to-Many, Many-to-Many. Creating a Star Schema for Reporting: Designing Fact and Dimension Tables; Using the Relationship View to Build Data Models. Introduction to DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): Overview of Calculated Columns and Measures; Common DAX Functions: SUM, COUNT, AVERAGE; Creating Simple Calculations with DAX. Hands-On Exercise: Building a Data Model and Creating Simple Measures.
Day 3: Data Visualization Introduction to Visualizations: Overview of Power BI Visuals; Creating Basic Charts (Bar, Line, Pie); Formatting and Customizing Visuals (Colors, Titles, Axes, Legends). Advanced Visualizations: Working with Maps, Tree Maps, and Gauges; Adding Filters and Slicers to Reports; Creating Hierarchies in Visualizations. Using Drilldowns and Drill-Throughs: Interacting with Data: Drill-Down and Drill-Through Capabilities; Creating Interactive Dashboards. Hands-On Exercise: Designing a Dashboard with Multiple Visuals and Interactive Elements.
Day 4: Publishing and Sharing Reports Introduction to Power BI Service (Cloud or Microsoft Azure): Difference Between Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service; Publishing Reports to Power BI Service; Understanding Workspaces, Apps, and Reports in the Cloud or Microsoft Azure. Creating Dashboards in Power BI Service: Pinning Visuals to Dashboards; Managing and Sharing Dashboards with Teams and Stakeholders. Collaborating in Power BI: Sharing and Collaborating on Reports; Managing Permissions and Access; Power BI Mobile App for Accessing Reports on the Go. Hands-On Exercise: Publish a Report to the Power BI Service and Share it with Others on the Go.
Day 5: Security, Best Practices, and Final Project Implementing Row-Level Security (RLS): Overview of Row-Level Security; Creating and Applying RLS Roles. Power BI Best Practices: Best Practices for Data Modeling; Designing Effective Reports and Dashboards; Optimizing Report Performance. Final Project: Building an End-to-End Power BI Solution: Importing Data from Multiple Sources; Creating Data Models and DAX Measures; Designing Interactive Dashboards; Publishing and Sharing the Final Report. Review and Q&A: Recap of Key Learnings; Q&A Session and Final Discussions.
Optional Day 6: Advance Power BI One-day additional training can be planned for interested advanced participants.
