Lucas Distributed Order Management

Capgemini Group

The Lucas Distributed Order Management (DOM) is a rule-based, consolidated platform that orchestrates orders from all inbound and outbound channels providing visibility along the entire supply chain.

Transform your supply chain with LUCAS. As a platform-agnostic set of microservices, LUCAS provides the foundation for a fully connected data ecosystem. When combined, these microservices enable a robust Distributed Order Management (DOM) system that can significantly enhance your existing OMS capabilities. LUCAS is offered as a (PaaS) Platform as a Service, within our client’s Azure environment.

Key Benefits:

• Omnichannel Integration: Seamlessly connect and manage orders across all inbound and outbound channels.

• AI-Powered Optimization: Leverage advanced AI algorithms to optimize order fulfillment processes for maximum efficiency.

• Rule-Based Automation: Automate repetitive tasks and enforce business rules to reduce errors, improve accuracy, and drive operational efficiencies.

• ERP-Agnostic Flexibility: Integrate with any ERP system to ensure compatibility and scalability.

• End-to-End Visibility: Gain real-time insights into your supply chain operations from order placement to delivery.

Pricing:

As a PaaS solution, LUCAS offers a flexible pricing model with a flat-rate monthly subscription fee and a monthly support agreement following the onboarding phase. Because LUCAS is hosted in the client’s Azure environment, the Azure consumption will vary based on factors such as:

  1. Order volumes that flow through LUCAS,
  2. The number of sites using LUCAS and
  3. The number input channels configured for LUCAS.

Getting Started:

The Onboarding phase is the first step to begin the LUCAS implementation. The duration is two or three Sprints, inclusive a 2-month Pilot. The Onboarding activities are the preparations for the Pilot. These activities consist of the following:

  1. Pre-pilot meetings – objective is to define the Pilot scope, confirm the Pilot Entry-Exit criteria, the Pilot KPIs used to determine business goal achievement and logistics preparation for the pilot-site.

  2. Host a series of half-day workshops with client personnel addressing Order Workflows, Tenants, User Management and Roles, ERP Master Data, Inventory Data and other integrated systems specific needs such as Ordering systems, TMS, 3-PLs. These workshops are typically accomplished within 5 business days.

  3. Finalize LUCAS configurations plus guidance and recommendations to our clients on the prudent Azure environment configurations based on the workshop results. Concurrently performed are training sessions on the Lucas DOM.

  4. Pilot start (typically 2 months = Pilot duration)

  5. Pilot-end followed by conclusion meeting to validate the KPIs and determine next steps for successive rollouts.
